Work Station

Am I the only person who seems to want a bad back when I'm writing? I just can't seem to write at a desk or anything. All my stuff is done on my laptop, sitting the bed. And I have to be listening to decent music - loud. Otherwise I can't concentrate. That applies to everything. I can't write essays in silence or drive in silence either. So that makes exams bloody annoying!

This is my shiny work station of choice at the moment.

As you can see, there's not much room for me to sit and I'm always hunched over, which doesn't help my bad back. Oh well. I'm hoping it's not just me, but maybe it is. Anyone else sit like this?

Don't worry -- you're not the only one. Silence and organization and all that structure are overrated.

Plus, I currently have the convenience of sleeping on a floor -- that's a fun place to write.

Ah, good to know. I have attacked the floor before but it really buggers up my back. Writing on the bed will do for now.

Just glad I'm not alone out there.

I too can't sit at desks much. I sit on, but mostly in the bed, leaning comfortable on the headrest/wall/whatever with the laptop on my legs in front of me, and all my books/sheets spread around me. Try that one, Neil. Might save your back a bit!

I've tried that before MIchelle, and I find it to be the most comfortabble position, but I'm one of these folks who moves around a lot, so can't stay in one position. And my laptop seems to get really hot at the left side. Ok when I'm wearing jeans, but dangerous at other times, if you catch my meaning :)

Ha ha. Tip number 2: Get UNDER the covers to save your bits getting burnt! lol
